At a recent press event at Franklin Electric in Madison, Wisconsin, Senator Tammy Baldwin joined representatives from Franklin Electric and utility provider Madison Gas and Electric to see how and why Franklin’s new NexPhase™ switchgear is pivotal in meeting national goals for building out the electronic vehicle charging infrastructure.
"The bipartisan infrastructure law includes a total of $7.5 billion to build out a nationwide network of half a million electric vehicle chargers over the course of the next five years," said Sen. Baldwin. "This public and private charging investment will accelerate the adoption of EVs and will create good paying jobs in manufacturing, in installation, in operation and maintenance," she continued.
"Franklin has been growing in Wisconsin as a manufacturer of environmentally sensitive fuel movement and critical electrical grid monitoring products for more than 30 years. Today, we're announcing the introduction of our flagship product, the NexPhase™ Smart EV Switchgear," said Jay Wash, President, Franklin Electric EV Systems. "It's directly targeted at Level 3 charging stations in support of the NEVI program. NEVI will greatly enhance freedom of movement throughout the United States by providing easy access to reliable fast charging," he continued.
